What can Labor do in Waterloo - An Open Public Forum to Discuss the Redevelopment of the Waterloo Housing Estate Aug 15, 2017 from 06:30 PM to 08:00 PM Redfern Town Hall ,
Redfern Labor invites you to attend a public forum to discuss the biggest change ever seen in our neighbourhood. A round circle community town hall style meeting, the event will start with four community representatives talking about their opinion of the redevelopment:
Rachel Forster IPC Hearing - 24 April Apr 24, 2018 from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM Club Redfern 159 Redfern Street, Redfern NSW 2016 ,
The Department pf Planning have finalised their Assessment report for the proposed development of the former Rachel Forster Hospital site and passed their recommendations to the Independent Planning Commission for a final determination. A public hearing will be held at 2pm Tuesday 24 April to hear speakers about the development. Those wishing to speak need to register by 2 pm Friday 20 April 2018. The department is recommending that the application for the inclusion of affordable housing be allowed alog with increased heights for buildings b & C with some improved heritage conservation.
Metro Quarter Draft Master Plan Information Session - Wed 30th May 5-8pm Redfern Town Hall May 30, 2018 from 05:00 PM to 08:00 PM Redfern Town Hall 73 Pitt Street Redfern,
This is an opportunity to comment on the proposed master plan for the Waterloo Metro Quarter before it is finalised and submitted for formal exhibition. The Metro Quarter will be integrated with the new Waterloo Sydney Metro Station and will encompass a new Metro Station and over station development, including new homes (including social and affordable housing), shops, community health services / community services and a new public / community plaza (concept only image) with an adjoining community building. The Metro Quarter Precinct is bounded by Botany Road, Cope Street, Raglan and Wellington Street. The Metro Quarter will be delivered ahead of the wider Waterloo Estate redevelopment and aims to be completed by 2022 before the trains are expected in 2024.

Remembering Irene Doutney Community Memorial - 2pm 29 June 2018 Jun 29, 2018 from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM Redfern Town Hall,
This is a community event to remember Irene Doutney who recently passed away. This is a community event involves Irene's family, friends and colleagues. It is supported by The City of Sydney (of which she was an ex Deputy Lord Mayor), The NSW Greens (of which she was an elected member), Counterpoint Community Services (of which she was a volunteer and long term Management Committee Member) and REDWatch (of which she was a Co-ord Group member 2007-2015) and the Redfern NAB (of which she was a NAB Rep). A 78er, Irene participated in the first Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and was a long-time advocate for LGBTIQ rights. Irene had many involvements through her life and everyone is welcome to celebrate the contribution of this amazing woman.

As part of its ongoing consultation with the local community, Sydney Local Health District will hold a community forum in October, to discuss public health issues and the needle and syringe program in Redfern. This meeting will discuss the proposal for a needle dispensing machine in front of the Redfern Health Centre.
