The Waterloo NAB, Employment, Learning and Enterprise Action Group, is pleased to announce the completion of its first project and invites you to celebrate at its official opening ceremony.

On July 17, 2009, 19 young people, with a strong interest in landscaping and horticulture work, will graduate from a hands-on course, which took place in Waterloo. The students will graduate with a TAFE-accreditation in landscaping competencies in Certificate 1 Access to Work and Educational Opportunities. These competencies were gained through the refurbishment of a large garden, and paved recreation area at one of the local high rise buildings - Daniel Solander on Pitt Street. This project is one of the first in a series of initiatives in the Waterloo area as part of the local Community Action Plans.

The project is an excellent example of partnership between Government and local non -government and private agencies, working with local residents to respond to community issues.
This project was made possible only by this strong partnership. Local young people have been able to gain skills and open gateways to future employment and learning opportunities. As well, the wider community has obtained an improved and safer community space.

In recognition of all the partners’ work and the outstanding project completed by the students, you are invited to join us for the official opening of this new recreational space.
Followed by a community lunch at the Factory Community Centre, 67 Raglan Street, Waterloo We would be pleased if you can attend
