- What do we know about what is planned for the Metro Quarter from the announcement
- The Metro Quarter will be integrated with the new Waterloo Sydney Metro Station and will encompass a new Metro Station and over station development, including new homes (including social and affordable housing), shops, community health services / community services and a new public / community plaza (concept only image) with an adjoining community building. The Metro Quarter Precinct is bounded by Botany Road, Cope Street, Raglan and Wellington Street. The Metro Quarter will be delivered ahead of the wider Waterloo Estate redevelopment and aims to be completed by 2022 before the trains are expected in 2024.

- Below are the initial comments from REDWatch about the Metro Quarter Master Plan announcement on 18 May 2018 as sent to REDWatch members and supporters.
- Human Services - May 2017
- The beginning of May 2018 has a Waterloo human services focus, with three events providing different opportunities for people to hear about, discuss and provide input on what needs to happen to better provide human services in the area. More information about each of the events can be found later in this email. The three events are:
- Human Services in Redfern and Waterloo: A potted history listing of plans, interventions, activities, consultations and reports
- This listing is prepared to provide an overview of key announcements and activities relating to Human Services in Redfern and Waterloo. It is not exhaustive and generally reflects what was known publically. Most projects were announced and not evaluated or ceased for one reason or another. Future Human Services planning should be aware of the earlier work in the area and learn as much as possible from it. Here we have not tried to draw out those lessons just construct an overview of what has gone before. Where reports or further information is available we have provided links or indicated that reports or resources are available.
- REDWatch Submission on Locomotive Workshops SSDAs
- Below is a copy of the REDWatch submission to The Department of Planning and Environment regarding Mirvac's proposed redevelopment of the ATP Locomotive Workshop.
- Request for Human Services Case Studies
- It is proposed that there will be a meeting of NGO Executive Officers and senior representatives from different Human Service departments in February 2018 to start work on a Waterloo Human Services Plan. In the lead up to this Michael Shreenan wrote to NGOs on behalf of Counterpoint, REDWatch, Groundswell and Inner Sydney Voice on 7 December 2017 asking for case study input. Below is the letter sent out. We are looking for feedback by Friday 19th January 2018.
- Waterloo Public Housing Renewal - Exisiting Property sizes
- Land and Housing has supplied REDWatch with a breakdown of the existing housing stock in the area covered by the proposed master plan. The figures show how many of different size units currently exist on the various blocs and buildings. This information is of interest because there is concern that one possible outcome will be the rentention of the same number of front doors but that the unit size will shrink.
- Human Service Plan Goals from REDWatch Perspective
- REDWatch has been involved in a few meetings with Land and Housing Corporation about the shape of a human services plan for Waterloo. The document below has been provided to LAHC as an indication of some of the systemic issues that REDWatch wants to see addressed in a Waterloo Human Services Plan.

- Land and Housing Corporation have on their Waterloo Communities Plus website the details of the consultants undertaking their studies as well as details about the scope of the various studies. Below are links to the current studies. There have been changes to the consultants undertaking some studies since the project details were initially posted.

- REDWatch Request to FACS for Human Services Plan
- The email below (which has been slightly altered for the website) was sent to the FACS Deputy Secretaries responsible for FACS Housing at Waterloo and FACS Land and Housing Corporation and FACS Secretary Michael Coutts-Trotter. It provides an outline of a long push to get Human Services on the agenda alongside the Waterloo Master Plan.

- Draft for Vision Consultation – Waterloo Redevelopment Precinct Master Plan
- Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) presented a draft for the Vision Consultation for discussion to the Waterloo Redevelopment Group (WRG) on 19 July 2017. At the Waterloo Redevelopment. This is an important document that sets out Drivers for the Waterloo Precinct Redevelopment and the Commitments that will influence the master plan - in effect the non-negotiables for the redevelopment. It also sets out the areas that are expected to be covered in the master plan Visioning consultations.
- Waterloo Draft Consultation Map and Zones
- Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) presented a draft map to the Waterloo Redevelopment Group (WRG) on 19 July 2017. The map sets out the area to be consulted widely as well as the area for more intense consultation. The initial map also had light blue lines that link parts of the Waterloo Estate to adjoining areas this denoted that this area will be notified of a precinct meeting that will bring public housing tenants and surrounding residents together for a visioning session. There will also be visioning sessions for Aboriginal groups, Russian & Chinese language speakers and for youth.

- REDWatch submission on Ongoing mechanisms for Heritage Co-ordination across the Former Eveleigh Railyard Precinct
- This is the text of a submission made to UrbanGrowth Central to Eveleigh on 19 June 2019 about ongoing mechanisms for heritage co-ordination across the former Eveleigh rail yard precinct. Discussions between UrbanGrowth Central to Eveleigh and the Heritage Office on this topic became apparent when it was referred to in development conditions for Mirvac's ATP development in 2016. These discussions are ongoing and UrbanGrowth is also in discussions with landowners across the former rail yards.
