Shot in the arm for inner south

BUSINESSMAN and co-owner of the Rabbitohs rugby league club, Peter Holmes a Court, has set up a forum of community and business leaders to re-invigorate the inner southern suburbs according to the Sun Herald December 31, 2006.

A recent invitation-only meeting included local business owners, developers as well as representatives of the Hillsong church and the NSW Police.

The idea was in part inspired by the work Mr Holmes a Court did in Los Angeles. In 2001 he sat on a board involved in the redevelopment of Hollywood.

"I believe the south Sydney area would benefit from a similar forum.

"This is about bringing local artists and musicians and chefs and business people and politicians together at the same time and in the same place."

The forums will be held on a quarterly basis, the next one scheduled for March.
