Mock gunfire likely during APEC training
Over the next three days, soldiers will practice their response to potential security-related incidents during the summit for which leaders from 21 APEC countries will be in Sydney on September 8 and 9.
Nearby residents and workers may witness troop and vehicle movements and may hear loud noises from mock gunfire.
Training sessions will be held at Eveleigh railway workshops in the inner suburb of Redfern and at Clyde marshalling yards in the city's west.
On Tuesday, training will conclude at Clyde and two days of training will commence at Martin Place train station in the city centre.
"During the training, soldiers will use blank ammunition resulting in loud noises to achieve their training objectives," an Australian Defence Force (ADF) media statement says.
"The ADF regrets any inconvenience this important training may cause."
