The Factory helps “let the dog Out”

The Factory Community Centre recently worked with Our Lady of Mt Carmel School in Waterloo on the ‘let the Dog out’ Project reports Redwater News of December 2007.

This was a ten week film and animation programme that used creative mediums to explore feelings of being bullied and being a bully.

Over ten weeks students created stories, illustrations, films and animations, to express their feelings and explore their creativity. Councillor Marcella Hoff attended Cana Café to celebrate the completion of this project and launch the three DVDs that were created by the students. (the project was sponsored by the Clover Moore MP Trust)

Clair from the Factory said “this project has been a successful pilot project and we hope to see similar projects to raise awareness of bullying in schools throughout Australia. Bullying is a worldwide problem in schools (and the general workplace) and current schools aids and activities in this area are limited and dare I say a little uninspiring for the students!”
