Following consideration by the Environment and Heritage Committee on Monday 9 March 2009 of the report on the Charles Kernan Reserve - Community Consultation and Concept Design Plan, the Council has approved the Developed Concept Plan at the meeting held on Monday 16 March 2009.

Council is now proceeding with detailed design of the plan. The proposed program for the project is:
Design Development and documentation - March - May 2009
Construction Tender Phase - June 2009
Commence construction - September 2009
Completion - 3-5 months
Community Garden
As indicated in the Developed Concept Design, a small community garden is proposed within the park. Council is now seeking input from interested persons as to how this space will be developed and managed to best serve the community. A meeting will be organised for residents interested in the proposed community garden, and if you would like to be involved in the design and development of a community garden please contact Council's Community Garden Coordinator, Annie Walker on telephone 9265 9786 or by email anwalker@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
