Marg Barry Memorial Lecture - The Revival of Social Justice
Professor Eileen Baldry will be giving the lecture. She is currently an Associate Professor of School of Social Sciences and International Studies at the University of NSW, Sydney Entertainment provided by Vocalist Jay McNeany Attendees are welcome to join us for drinks, finger food and lots of talk. Monthly Informal Gathering Friday
On the last Friday of the month, we invite agencies and community groups reps and volunteers to come together for an informal lunch time ‘get together’. We meet at the Norfolk Hotel – Cleveland Street (Beer Garden). It is a great chance to take time out of our busy schedules and catch up with each other, sharing news, and information informally. You buy your own refreshments and lunch and can stay a short or as long as time will allow.

Neighbourhood Advisory Board Elections – Redfern
Inner Sydney Regional Council’s Tenant Participation Resource Service will be holding election for Tenant Representatives to sit on the Redfern Neighbourhood Advisory Board (NAB).The NABs bring public housing tenants together with Housing NSW staff, police, council and other service providers to work on issues affecting the housing estates. The Redfern Tenant Representative elections will take place on 2rd and 3rd February.

Neighbourhood Repairs Service – Waterloo
An information session for local services and stakeholders about the implementation of the Waterloo Green Neighbourhood Project, a three year pilot project that will be implemented in six high rise buildings in Waterloo. The project comprises three new services, each of which will provide employment and training opportunities for social housing residents.

North Eveleigh and Sydney Uni 2020 Politics in the Pub
Politics in the Pub being put on by USyd students. The panel will consist of Geoff Turnbull from REDWatch, Col James, from the University of Sydney Fell Housing Research Centre, Councillor John McInerney from the City of Sydney, the new President of the Student Representative Council, and Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Richmond Jeremy from the University of Sydney.

North Eveleigh Parks - Invitation to Contribute to Design, 24 November 2012
The SMDA has commenced the process for designing two parks at the western end of the North Eveleigh site. In accordance with the North Eveleigh Concept Plan, an application for the development of the parks must be submitted. This must occur prior or concurrently with the first application for new floor space. A private consultancy firm has been appointed to progress the design and submit this development application. The SMDA will seek to ensure that the community’s interests are incorporated in the design and will be undertaking consultation with the community and stakeholders.

Vince Forrester will be speaking about the negative impacts of the Northern Territory Intervention on his people at a public forum at the Redfern Community Centre, 6pm on April 14.

Older and Wiser Partnership strategy Steering Group - 17th April 2009 10am
A Joint projects between South Sydney Uniting Church, Mercy Arms, the Factory and others aimed at promoting older people contribution to community life. The program will be rolled out over the course of 2009 resulting in a week long showcase festival of the individual projects in the first week of September 2009.
