REDWATER Community Markets - 16 January 2010
by REDWatch, last updated: Jan 14, 2010 12:45 AM
Redwater Community Markets are held 3rd Saturday of the month at Redfern Park and held between 8am and 4pm. These community markets are sponsored by the City of Sydney as part of a local community action plan and are organised by the Housing Communities Program (HCP) at the Factory Community Centre, in partnership with Surry Hills Neighborhood Centre and others. All monies raised from the stallholder-fees for the markets are injected back into supporting local environmental community projects such as the Waterloo Recycling Workshop. As the market is part of local community action on climate change, the focus of the market (not exclusively) is on sustainable goods, which are handmade, recycled, or second hand, and are environmental friendly. This is to assist in the reduction of waste strategies of the City Council. However all goods sold must be of reasonably high quality.
ATP Eveleigh Moveable Items
by REDWatch, last updated: Jan 05, 2010 04:49 PM
The Moveable Heritage items at Eveleigh and their maintainence were originally covered in the "Eveleigh Workshops Management Plan for Moveable Items and Social History" by Godden Mackay in July 1996. Here we have posted Volume 1 and Volume 3 of the 1996 report. In September 2008 The Australian Technology Park undertook a Section 170 Register Overview Report by Futurepast Heritage Consulting P/L which was accepted by the Heritage Office. When the s170 report became publicly available on the ATP website in December 2009 some changes were made to the report. The original report recommended disposal of 13 of the items covered in the 1996 report. By making extracts of both these reports available it is possible to cross reference the proposed disposals. As the original 1996 document is a scan it is not searchable. To assist in the location of items we have constructed a text index. The Inventory number can then be matched to the rlevent PDF file with detailed information about the significance of a piece of equipment or an assemblabe in the 1996 Management Plan referenced in the 1995 Conservation management Plan which is available on the ATP website.

Text Index to Equipment
by REDWatch, last updated: Dec 16, 2009 07:35 PM
The "Eveleigh Workshop Management Plan for Moveable Items and Social History" 1996 contains 2 lists of equipment which we have combined here as an index sorted by the Bay the items were located in 1996 and by Inventory number. We have added to the index the status of the item in the s170 report from 2008. You can search this page and then with the Inventory Number you can find the Conservation Sheet for the equipment which provides details of its significance and how it was to be preserved in 1996. As the scan of the report is very large we have broken it up into a number of sections and shown the Inventory Number range within the various sections of the report. Volume 1 covers the entire collection and should be read in conjunction with the Convervation Management Plan 1995 which can be found at www.atp.com.au/_literature_46567/1995_Conservation_Management_Plan

Godden Mackay Logan have requested feedback on what should be included in the CMP and to assist this they have produced the attached feedback form.
