REDWatch Heffron By-Election Candidates Forum - 2 Aug 2012

This months REDWatch monthly meeting has been given over to a Meet the Candidates Forum for the coming By-Election in the State seat of Heffron to replace Kristina Keneally who has resigned from state parliament. Come and hear from Mehreen Faruqi from the Greens Ron Hoenig from the ALP at the Factory 6-8pm 2nd August 2012.

With Kristina Keneally stepping down there will be an by-election on 25^th August to fill her seat.

So far two candidates have nominated:

Dr Mehreen Faruqi (Greens) - Environmental / Civil Engineer Australian School of Business UNSW, who contested Heffrom at the last state election - http://nsw.greens.org.au/people/mehreen-faruqi
Cn Ron Hoenig (ALP) - Barrister and long time Mayor of Botany Bay - www.ronhoenig.com.au

The Liberals have announced they will not contest the seat. If anyone else nominates by the forum we will invite them as well.

Both Mehreen and Ron have agreed to attend the REDWatch meeting and let you know why they want your support on polling day and to answer your questions from the floor.

Candidates will present followed by a Question and Answer session.
