To the residents of Darlington and Redfern,
On Thursday March 7, members of the National Tertiary Education Union will be taking industrial action at the University of Sydney, with a 24 hour strike.
This strike has been called by our members because of University management’s attempts to wind back working conditions and stall negotiations over a new Enterprise Agreement at the University. If you would like to know more about the issues, you can read more at our website: http://www.nteu.org.au/sydney/
Entrances to the University will be picketed from 7am on the day. This will most likely result in some local traffic congestion. We apologise to local residents for any inconvenience caused. However, as many of you are all too aware in light of your recent experiences, sometimes collective action is required in order to make the University’s current management accountable for its actions.
If you have any further questions (and/or if you would like to join us on the picket lines!), please contact us at nteu@nteu.usyd.edu.au.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Thomson
