Large Erecting Shop rezoning proposal Exhibition until 24 Nov 2022 by REDWatch, last updated: Nov 19, 2022 07:46 PM: The Department of Planning and Environment have a rezoning proposal for the Large Erecting Shop (LES) on exhibition now until 24 November. This exhibition is about changing the planning controls that apply to this site prior to what is proposed to be a State Significant Development Application (SSDA) that will deal with the detailed design. REDWatch only learnt about this exhibition on 4 November evening and it was supposed to end 10th November. REDWatch has not had time to dig into all the documents. Eveleigh Link Bridge - North Eveleigh Bates Smart Page 324 by REDWatch, last updated: Nov 19, 2022 07:41 PM: In the Urban Design Study there is the single page assessment of a pedestrian link bridge between North and South Eveleigh. The last sentence below says: (Detailed consideration is outside the project scope and does not have NSW Government funding). Interestingly in the Large Erecting Shop (LES) rezoning by TAHE / TfNSW / Mirvac where the bridge is suggested to land from the North Eveleigh documents there is no similar mention of the feasibility of the connecting bridge. In fact there is no mention at all of a possible connection.

Lack of Bridge between North and South Eveleigh a major concern by REDWatch, last updated: Nov 19, 2022 07:41 PM: One of the problems REDWatch has experienced in dealing with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is that it wants to divide the precinct around Redfern North Eveleigh up and then refuse to talk about connectivity across the entire site. The Paint Shop Master Plan is another classic in that discussion. The reports say it is still feasible to have a connection between North and South Eveleigh.

Redfern North Eveleigh - State Significant Precinct (SSP) Study Requirements by REDWatch, last updated: Nov 19, 2022 07:39 PM: Rezoning in Redfern North Eveleigh will be done as a State Significant Precinct and on 21 December 2020 the Department of Planning Infrastructure and Environment (DPIE) issued the details of what Transport for NSW (TfNSW) must cover in its precinct studies for that rezoning. Study requirements have been prepared in consultation with state agencies and the City of Sydney council to guide (TfNSW) investigations into proposed new planning controls within the Redfern North Eveleigh Precinct.
