This meeting will be part of the consultation process for the development of locally based Village Plans for 2030 in Your Village. Below is what Council says:

The City of Sydney undertook extensive consultation in 2005/2006 that culminated in Local Action Plans (LAPs) to honour our City of Villages commitment. Most LAP projects have been completed or are underway including new facilities, parks and street improvements. We again consulted in 2007 to develop Sustainable Sydney 2030, our long term vision to make Sydney environmentally, economically, socially and culturally sustainable. The Village Plans will further extend this work.

The Plan for each village group focuses on the initiatives and how they will impact on the people who live, work or visit that village group and the overall character of the area.

We want to consult with the community, residents, local business and government and non-government agencies to make sure that we have got the long term vision right. Over the next few months we will be asking groups like yours to contribute input and suggestions about projects you would like supported or which we may have missed.

REDWatch has arranged this meeting so people can discuss the issues outside the process of the broader community meeting.
