Sydney Uni Abercrombie Street Campus Plans

Sydney University has made available its plans for the new Abercrombie Street Business School on their web site while waiting for the Department of Planning to place the documents on formal exhibitions. Darlington locals are encouraged to become familiar with the proposals as there is expected to be only 4 weeks of formal exhibition. The Exhibition is expected to start soon. Below are links to the documents as circulated by Sydney University on 13 May 2011 as well as some information regarding the Sports and Aquatic Expansion Project.

The Abercrombie Precinct Redevelopment Project

Thank you to everyone who submitted comments and feedback on the Abercrombie Precinct Redevelopment Project.

All documents submitted for the proposal to the Department of Planning have been uploaded on the project website 

The university is still awaiting advice from the Department of Planning on when the proposal will be on formal public exhibition, (this is likely to commence within the next two weeks). We will  inform you of all the details, once we know.

The Sports and Aquatic Expansion Project

Thank you to everyone who submitted comments and feedback on the Sports and Aquatic Centre Expansion Project.

The University understands that the approval will be issued by the City of Sydney Council by the end of May, 2011

The proposed commencement date for phase one (Sports Hall expansion) is Monday  4 July 2011, which will include:

  • Demolition of an existing building used for the storage of chemicals
  • Construction and use of a Sports Hall, including:                                                                                                           

- Two basketball courts
- Group fitness studio
- Boxing gym
- Combat sports area

Initially you will notice the site office being established and the demolition of the Raglan St building.
