Government Policy on Railway Access Upgrades

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has produced both public policy documents and released internal working documents under GIPA requests which provides information about Government Policy, Programmes, selection criteria and prioritisation process. This section of the site contains links to public documents and copies of documents released under GIPA requests.
Government Priority Criteria for Station Upgrades like Redfern

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has released Internal Working Documents under a GIPA request setting out the Selection criteria and prioritisation process for TfNSW selection of stations to be upgraded. Redfern Station potentially fits three programs – Easy Access for lifts onto platforms 11 & 12; Station Upgrade as a local station and; an Interchange Upgrade because of its wider rail-rail and rail-bus interchange role . Below you will find the criteria that Redfern Station would need to meet under each program. Where possible in Lift Redfern letters Redfern’s meeting of the relevant criteria should be stressed.

North Eveleigh Parks - Invitation to Contribute to Design by 17 December 2012

Two new parks of 3,350sm and 445sm are being proposed for the Newtown end of the North Eveleigh site. In an area where there is a low proportion of open space per capita it is very important to design these parks so that they meet the needs of those in the surrounding community and those visiting Carriageworks and the Eveleigh Markets. Locals are encouraged to make their thoughts known on what should happen with these parks.
Abercrombie Street Upgrade Plans Dec 2012

Giant architect built for justice - COL JAMES, 1936-2013

Col James was a giant who took great strides with gentle steps, followed a career-long path with clear direction and purpose, but always had time for a cup of tea and to listen to those seldom heard by the architectural world he loved reports this obituary in the Sydney Morning Herald of 23 February 2013.

Village to Village Bus link Time Table - Redfern to Woolloomooloo

A bus service started in February 2008 that will link Redfern Waterloo with Woolloomooloo via St Vincent's Hospital. The service is run by South abd East Sydney Community Transport with support from the City of Sydney and links with the Redfern to Glebe Village to Village bus at Poets Corner. The service operates round trips on Thursdays and Fridays stopping at Surry Hills Shopping Village, Surry Hills ANZ Bank, Northcott flats, Central Railway pedestrian tunnel, The dental Hospital, THe Entertainment Centre & Paddys, National Arts School / Caritas, St Vincent's Public Hospital, Darlinghurst Road at Green Park, the medical centre and William Street, Kings Cross Station, The old Metro Cinema, Woolworth's Macleay St, St Neots Street, Brougham St and terminates at Mary Mcdonald Activity Centre Bourke Street Woolloomooloo. Village to Village Bus link Time Table - Redfern to Glebe

A bus service started in February 2007 that linked Redfern Waterloo with Glebe calling at RPA Hospital and Broadway Shops. The service is run by South and East Sydney Community Transport with support from the City of Sydney. The latest schedule is provided below. The service operates round trips on Thursdays and Fridays making stops that include: • Poets Corner, Morehead Street, Redfern • The Fact Tree Youth Centre • Wellington Street Waterloo • Eora Sports Centre • AMS Redfern Street • Redfern Station, Lawson Street • RPA Hospital, Missenden Road Camperdown • Joanna O’Dea building, Lyons Road • Glebe Library, Glebe Point Road • Broadway shops, Francis Street, Glebe. • Fish Markets, Glebe. The February 2013 schedule is on the attached leaflet (3 Mb PDF).This service meshs with a Village to Village bus link at Poet's Corner to Woolloomooloo via St Vincent's Hospital.
