Pemulwuy Mixed Use Development - Exhibition until 29 Feb 2012
Below is the text of the letter sent on 13 January 2012 by the Department of Planning & Infrastructure to land owners in the vicinity of the Aboriginal Housing Company's proposed Pemulwuy Project. City Moves to new Village Hubs & Seeks Community Input
The City of Sydney Council has divided the City into 10 village Groups in line with the proposals first outlined in 2008 in the Council's 2030 Strategy. The new Redfern Street "village group" includes the suburbs of Chippendale, Darlington and Eveleigh as well as Redfern west of Chalmers Street / Redfern Oval, Waterloo north of McEvoy and west of young Street as well as Alexandria north of Buckland and Copeland Streets.

Transfer of land in Redfern to the Aboriginal Housing Company from Council
The City proposes to transfer this land to the Aboriginal Housing Company, to help provide housing and other facilities for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, for $20. The transfer of land for a nominal sum reflects the City of Sydney’s support of the project. The transfer of land to the Aboriginal Housing Company proposal will be on public exhibition 1 August to 5 September 2011 states this notice for Council of 10 July 2011.

Thinking Outside The Square: A Retrospective (1972-2010)
"I have been documenting people, places and events for over three decades. As an American emigrant from Bradenton, a small country town in Florida, I came to cosmopolitan Sydney in 1971, with fresh eyes" Over 200 black and white and colour carefully culled photographs, or perhaps they may even form ‘visual transcripts’, are being exhibited in the collection at the opening within a church setting, providing the exhibition with a sense of the sacred and surreal. Images are laid out on the church pews creating a sense of engagement, and are a metaphor for presenting people “where they sat”. Hours: Tue - Thur 4.30 to 6pm; Sun 9am to 12noon

M5 Expansion into South Sydney – RTA requests feedback by 12 March 2010
The RTA is inviting initial submissions to help identify emerging issues to help scope the environmental assessments for the M5 expansion which includes a new two lanes in each direction link the M5 to Campbell Road at Sydney Park. This is likly to increase traffic into Redfern Waterloo.

Night of the Black Stars (February 13)
Aboriginal Boxing, basketball and culture will make a triumphant return to the Aboriginal heartland of Redfern on Black Friday, Friday 13 February, as part of a major community event to raise funds for the Indigenous Sporting Academy and Indigenous Boxing Academy reports City news on 4th February 2009.
