Living Sydney is running a team in the upcoming local council elections for the City of Sydney and we are holding meetings of community members throughout the city in the next few weeks. The purpose of these meetings is to hear of your local problems and meet our Lord Mayoral candidate, Angela Vithoulkas and our team. This Wednesday 18 July we are holding a meeting at Redfern Town Hall between 6.30-8.30pm and we are hoping that you, your members and friends will be able to attend.

The NSW Government Green Paper on the Planning Reforms uses North Eveleigh as an example of a proposed "Enterprise Zone". Hear Greens Planning Spokesperson David Shoebridge, City of Sydney Greens Councillor Irene Douthney and Greens Heffron candidate Mehreen Farugi raise the Greens concerns at this protest.

An information session for local services and stakeholders about the implementation of the Waterloo Green Neighbourhood Project, a three year pilot project that will be implemented in six high rise buildings in Waterloo. The project comprises three new services, each of which will provide employment and training opportunities for social housing residents.

Family and Culture Day, a grassroots community oriented drug and alcohol free event, is at The Block in Redfern. The aim of this event, which takes place on the last Saturday of each month, is to bring families back to The Block and to show off the incredible talent within the Redfern Indigenous community. This month Janawi, UDC Crew, Nellie Dargan, comedian Sonny and magician Anthony. with Allara, YungNooky, Howlin Funk, Black Turtles and Michael Donovan.

Family and Culture Day, a grassroots community oriented event, is at The Block in Redfern. For the children there is a jumping castle, face painting and other entertainment.

Join us on the Thursday night of the Older and Wiser Festival at the Alexandria bowling club for a fantastic for an evening of entertainment from the famous Robertson Brothers.
