The University of Sydney is planning a new home for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FASS with a building earmarked for the Ross Street gateway to the Camperdown Campus.

The proposed FASS building will:

  • Bring together two schools within the Faculty in one location
  • Increase collaboration within the Faculty and between other faculties across the University, as well as with public and private partners via the establishment of the Sydney Social Sciences and Humanities Research Centre (SSSHARC) and Sydney Policy Lab.
  • Provide space for approximately 300 additional higher degree graduate students FTE.
  • Nurture new cross disciplinary research and teaching collaboration.
  • Strengthen the position of FASS as one of the leading faculties of humanities and social sciences in Australia and among the leading faculties of its kind in the world.
Alison Worland has been appointed as the FASS Project Director and a governance structure has been established to oversee the project.

The Project Team are working towards lodging the Development Application for the building in 2016.
