Peak groups alliance releases scorecard on ‘City of Cities’ planning strategy -06.12.2005.

The following media statement was issued on the Metro Strategy jointly by the Housing Industry Association, NSW Council of Social Services, Property Council of Australia, State Chamber of Commerce (NSW), Total Environment Centre & UnionsNSW.

An alliance of the state’s peak interest groups today released a scorecard on the Government’s new 25 year planning strategy for Sydney, and has vowed to remain as a watchdog role in reviewing its delivery.

The scorecard rated the Government’s performance against its own aims and the document’s seven key strategies. The individual rankings were as follows:

• Economy and Employment – very good

• Centres and Corridors – good

• Housing – okay / Human services – poor

• Transport – poor

• Environment and Resources – okay

• Parks and Public Places – good

• Implementation – good / Accountability – poor
