Clean up this Mess

WATERLOO Green is unsafe and unclean, according to public housing tenants living near the park. They allege an action plan drawn up by residents and Redfern police has been ignored by the Department of Housing (DOH) reports Central of 6th February 2008 page 10.

An audit and the action plan, drawn up in September last year, found the park was lacking in night lighting, and damage was left unrepaired for months. Ross Smith, pictured, is a precinct representative for Public Housing in the area.

"These things should be taken care of by the department. They are the landlord and government agency responsible."

A DOH spokesperson said it had acted appropriately in response to the audit.
