Robert Domm Appointed CEO of Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority

Planning Minister Frank Sartor today (20 June 2008) announced the appointment of Mr Robert Domm as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority reports this media release from Minister Frank Sartor.

The Foreshore Authority has responsibility for managing The Rocks and Darling Harbour along with other key waterfront sites such as the new Ballast Point Park.

Mr Sartor said Mr Domm would commence the new role on July 21, 2008.

“Robert Domm has done an outstanding job at the Redfern Waterloo Authority, and before that as the General Manager of the City of Sydney,” Mr Sartor said.

“In the short to medium-term he will retain his job at the RWA to see through a number of major projects, including the renewal of North Eveleigh.”

Mr Domm is a qualified legal practitioner and holds a Masters in Labour Law and Relations from the University of Sydney.

He has been CEO of RWA since its inception in December 2004 as well as Managing Director of the Australian Technology Park, and worked at the City of Sydney from 2001 to 2004, including nearly three years as General Manager.

Mr Domm has helped to guide the implementation of the Government’s Redfern-Waterloo plans, which have attracted more than $600 million in new investment to the area.

Major projects underway in the precinct include:

• The development of a $123 million media hub at the RWA-owned Australian

Technology Park to house the Seven Network, Pacific Magazines, Global Television and other media parties.

• A $47 million ATP development for National ICT Australia and the Defence, Science and Technology Organisation, bringing 600 new jobs to Redfern.

• The creation of a $30 million National Indigenous Development Centre on the former Redfern Public School site.

• A $3 million makeover of the former Blacksmiths’ Workshop at North Eveleigh to create a community market space.

New CEO appointed

 
Planning Minister Frank Sartor recently announced the appointment of Mr Robert Domm as the new chief executive officer of Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.

Mr Domm comes to the Foreshore Authority from the Redfern Waterloo Authority and before that as general manager of City of Sydney. He is a qualified legal practitioner and holds a Masters in Labour Law and Relations from the University of Sydney.

Mr Domm takes over from the Authority’s current CEO of five years, Dr Robert Lang, who has accepted a position as general manager of Parramatta Council.

Mr Domm will remain with the Redfern Waterloo Authority in the short to medium term to see through a number of major projects. He will commence with the Foreshore Authority on 21 July 2008.
