CarriageWorks Busiest Weekend Notice - 15 & 16 May 2009

On 15 and 16 May, CarriageWorks will experience the busiest weekend it has had since it opened. Every performance space in the building has something happening in it and there are the Eveleigh and Finder's Keepers Markets. The result will be two days of heavy foot and Vehicle traffic that may have an impact on surrounding neighbours. Below is the notice issued by CarriageWorks to those attending but they have also asked for it to be passed on to local residents.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM CARRIAGEWORKS | BUSIEST WEEKEND EVER!

On 15 and 16 May, CarriageWorks will experience the busiest weekend we have had since we opened. Every performance space in the building has something happening in it! With 2 big performances, 2 showings of new work, The Finders Keepers Markets taking over CarriageWorks’ foyer, and the Eveleigh Farmers’ Markets in full swing across the walkway, we anticipate that many thousands of people will be heading to CarriageWorks to be part of the action. It will be an extremely exciting and extremely busy 2 days at CarriageWorks.

MESSAGE FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS AND PATRONS

If you are planning to visit CarriageWorks on Friday 15 or Saturday 16 May, we encourage you to leave your car at home! It’s easy to get to CarriageWorks by train, bus or bike and we strongly recommend that you take advantage of the easily accessible public transport and give our local residents (and the planet!) a break - keeping off the roads as much as possible. Our website has comprehensive information about how to get here, including maps, walking distances and transport suggestions. CLICK HERE to plan your visit!

If you are a resident, local to the CarriageWorks site, please note that CarriageWorks administration is anticipating heavy vehicle and foot traffic over these 2 days, and has recognised the impact this may have on our neighbours. Please know that CarriageWorks has put in place a wide strategic campaign to encourage all visitors to the venue to use public transport and have suggested ways that our patrons can help limit the stress placed on surrounding roads and the community. If you would like to see the message CarriageWorks is sending to patrons, please visit the CarriageWorks website or CLICK HERE.

If you’d rather be part of the action than sit at home, we invite you to come down over the 2 days to experience the buzz! Below is a list of what will be happening over the two days. Follow the links for more information:
