Revitalisation of Abercrombie Street

The City of Sydney plans to transform Abercrombie Street, Darlington, into a safe and inviting public area and they are doing a short consulation until 31 October 2011 including a session with the Plans at Tripod on Wednesday 26 October between 4 - 7pm. The details including the links to the proposal are below.

Revitalisation of Abercrombie Street

The City of Sydney plans to transform Abercrombie Street, Darlington, into a safe and inviting public area.

We want to promote outdoor dining, strengthen the Darlington village atmosphere, and make it safer for people to walk to Redfern Station and Sydney University by:

  • Making the street more pedestrian-friendly with a wider footpath on the southern side
  • Greening the area with more trees and garden beds
  • Installing new lighting
  • Reducing the clutter of overhead cables.

We are not proposing changes to existing traffic arrangements.

Community Consultation

Come and join Lord Mayor Clover Moore at 5pm on Wednesday 26 October 2011 at an information session to discuss the proposals.

The drop-in session will be held at Café Tripod, 262 Abercrombie Street and will be open from 4pm – 7pm. Coffee, tea, juice and light snacks will be provided.
