HNSW Workshop - Connections & Local Facilities - 24 Sept

Are you interested in learning more about planning for better Connections and Local Facilities, Connections & Local Facilities are the September 2011 focus for Housing NSW's Master Plan discussions. Programme includes bus trips to community centres on 21 Sept and Workshops repeated on Sat 24 September, Wednesday 28 (Russian & Chinese) and Thursday 29 September (English & Indigenous).

Trevor Davies ALP Memorial Event - Forum on Ethics - Tuesday 30 Aug 7.30 pm

A Forum on Ethics will be held as a memorial event in memory of Trevor Davies on 30 August at Redfern Town Hall. Speakers will include Tanya Plibersek, MP, Kristina Keneally MP, and Jenny McAllister, ALP National President. The event is hosted by the Redfern, Darlington, Erskineville, and Alexandria Branches of the ALP.

Housing NSW has just held a “Planning Expo” to publicly launch their Preliminary Master Plan for the redevelopment of the public housing estates in Redfern and Waterloo. Come along and find out about how this Master Plan will affect public and private residents. Housing NSW Baseline Study

This is an electronic copy of the Baseline "Redfern Waterloo Public Housing Tenant Survey" undertaken by Sweeney Research for Housing NSW. The study included 752 interviews with public tenants between 28 June 2010 and 30 November 2010. This report dated 29 April 2011 was publicly released in hard copy by HNSW on 3 August 2011 to the Redfern and Waterloo Community Learning and Research Group. An electronic copy was released on 22 August 2011. This is a searchable 3.3MB PDF.
Transfer of land in Redfern to the Aboriginal Housing Company from Council

The City proposes to transfer this land to the Aboriginal Housing Company, to help provide housing and other facilities for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, for $20. The transfer of land for a nominal sum reflects the City of Sydney’s support of the project. The transfer of land to the Aboriginal Housing Company proposal will be on public exhibition 1 August to 5 September 2011 states this notice for Council of 10 July 2011.

RailCorp Letter Re Moving Substations and Ivery's Lane Retaining Wall

On 9 May 2011 Railcorp wrote to residents backing on to Ivery's Lane regarding their plan to move substations on North Eveleigh in line with the North Eveleigh Concept Plan and to renew the retaining wall along Ivery's Lane. This is a copy of letter sent to some owners along Ivery's Lane asking for their comment. RailCorp is both the proponent and the consent authority for this proposal.
Sydney Uni Abercrombie Street Update - 7 July 2011

Sydney University Director of Campus Infrastructure and Services, Colin Rockliff, issued the following update on Sydney University revising their plans for the Abercrombie Street campus on 7 July 2011. The next meeting to discuss these plans between the University and Residents is 9am 19th July at the University Services building.
