This document was the most recent of documents released in October 2013 by Transport NSW to a GIPA request initiated by Lift Redfern regarding planning for the Upgrade of Redfern Railway Station. This documents gives a quick overview of the issues needing to be adressed in upgrading Redfern Station and the key options considered. This document shows three options being put to Treasury for upgrading Redfern Station with work expected to start in July 2011. The detailed planning is contained in other released documents. File Redfern Station Upgrade - 2009 Cox Proposed Revised Concept Design Extract by REDWatch, last updated: Oct 31, 2013 12:02 PM
In mid 2009 Cox Arup Bovis produced a Redfern Station Revised Concept Design Report. This is an extract from that report that shows the Cox revision of the Jackson Teece preferred Option C proposal for the redevelopment of Redfern Station. This Cox proposal was the C1 Option on the Gateway funding proposal. This is an extract of the much larger Revised Concept Design Report and has been provided to provide a quick overview of the key elements of the proposal. This document is extracted from one of the documents released under a GIPA request initiated by Lift Redfern of which REDWatch is a member. This file is 3.8 MB PDF.
News Item North Eveleigh Affordable Housing Approved by REDWatch, last updated: Oct 26, 2013 10:07 PM
The Department of Planning and Infrastructure anounced on 25 October 2013 that the application for affordable housing on North Eveleigh had been approved. The Department also advised that they had amended the North Eveleigh Concept Plan to allow the building to increase in height to 7 storeys. The details of the media release are below:

Council’s Planning and Development Committee on 20 August 2013 dealt with a report from Council Officers regarding the Eveleigh Railway Workshops. At Council on 26th August Council resolved to request the Minister to re-establish the Redfern Waterloo Heritage Taskforce and if this did not eventuate within a reasonable period of time Council will use its good offices to convene a meeting of interested parties. At the City of Sydney Council Meeting on 26 August 2013 Council passed a resolution in response to the Anoucnement for a lift to be put on Redfern Station. The Motion was originally submitted by Councillor Christine Forster who accepted an amendment by Councillor Mant and was carried unanimously. Below is the text of the final resolution.

This is the letter requested in the Council Meeting resolution on 26th August 2013 concerning Lift Redfern. In the leter the Lord Mayor says "I write to congratulate Lift Redfern on last week’s announcement that the NSW Government will provide some lift access at Redfern Station. This is an important first step in making Redfern Station accessible to everyone and is a direct result of Lift Redfern’s ongoing campaign". The full letter is attached as 192 Kb PDF.

On Thursday 22 August 2013 the Member for Sydney Alex Greenwich asked minister Hazzard about public open space, child care, high schools and primary schools, and safe cycling paths for new and existing adjacent residents and workers to the Central to Eveleigh Corridor.
