Trevor may need more time

The South Sydney Herald November 2006 reports on Trevor’s attempts to exercise and loose weight.

Trevor’s doctor John Robinson told the Herald, “Trevor has been overweight since I’ve known him and that’s caused his other problems such as sleep apnoea, and asthma. I am pleased that Trevor seems to be successfully carrying out an exercise programme and making changes to his diet. His blood pressure seems to be under control and it looks like he is losing weight. Whether he loses 10 kilos by the end of the year, I’m not sure. He made need more time.” Trevor’s sister, Susan, informed us that he hasn’t always been overweight. The family has pictures of him 15 years ago looking very thin. “Something happened when he was about 40. He was drinking heavily and that didn’t help. He seemed to gain weight overnight”, she said. One of Trevor’s friends, who didn’t want to be named, remarked that Trevor always seemed to be puffing, that walking seemed to be an effort. “I was always concerned about the hours he spent delivering the paper. I used to wonder if he would come back alive”, said Trevor’s patient trainer, Alex Tui. He want on to add: “Trevor has done well. He has stuck to the agreed programme. That’s an hour for three days a week. Now he is much better, fitter and stronger. If Trevor can do this well there’s hope for everyone with weight issues.”
