Chamber Business Consultation - 25 March 2010

In a media release on 26 February the RWCC called on Local Business operators to stake a claim in the area's evolution and potential. Local business operators should not miss this opportunity to make their thoughts known, and take hold of the future potential of Redfern Waterloo the statement said.

The Redfern Waterloo business community is clearly enjoying a huge boost to commerce as a growing number of small and large businesses set up and relocate to the area.

Channel 7, Global Television, Pacific Magazines and the new National Centre for Indigenous Excellence have chosen to make Redfern their home, whilst a string of new cafes, art galleries and creative enterprises have opened their doors throughout the area including in Waterloo, Eveleigh and Darlington.

The Redfern Waterloo Chamber of Commerce President, Ms Mary Lynne Pidcock, is thrilled with the high level of interest in the area. 

“The number of new businesses is a real vote of confidence in how the area is developing, and testament to the influence that the new refurbishments and first class businesses are having on the area”.

Ms Pidcock added, “The Redfern Waterloo area also offers first class education facilities, along with media and technology clusters that are making their mark on the global stage, as well as being loyal and committed to the local development of business growth”.

The Redfern Waterloo Chamber of Commerce has a role in liaison with all tiers of government and represents the interests of local businesses throughout the Sydney Metropolitan Region. 

Ms Pidcock said she would like to strengthen the membership of the Chamber and most importantly give local businesses a say in the development of the Chamber’s Strategic Plan. 

A Breakfast Planning Meeting is taking place on Thursday 25 March 2010 above the Park Café on Chalmers – Redfern Park,(Opposite 265 Chalmers Street, Redfern). Breakfast  at 7.00 am, for a 7.30 am start, until 10.00 am. 

“All businesses in the Redfern, Waterloo, Eveleigh and Darlington areas are most welcome to attend the meeting to provide valuable input into planning process for the Chamber and network with the local businesses,” said Ms Pidcock. 

She further added, “The Meeting is free for Chamber members and the cost of membership of $60, for non-members.”

Local businesses should RSVP by close of business Tuesday 23 March 2010, to Ms Pidcock on 0419 657 888 or by email at  president@rwchamber.com.au,  to secure a seat at the table for the Strategic Planning Meeting.  “Now is the time to join the Redfern Waterloo Chamber of Commerce”, Ms Pidcock concluded.
