Rail Tram & Bus Union Submission to Review of Tourism in NSW July 2007

The following submission was made to the Review of Tourism in NSW by the Rail Tram & Bus Union. The submission recommends "NSW Tourism has a role to play in researching and identifying details of the railway heritage and cultural tourism assets and providing an overview which adds to an understanding of unlocking the potential value of these assets to tourism and the NSW economy".

REDWatch Submission to Review of Tourism in NSW July 2007

Below is the text of the REDWatch submission to the Review of Tourism in NSW in July 2007. REDWatch requests the Review to "recommend a detailed study of the potential for heritage rail tourism in NSW and into the role that Eveleigh’s Large Erecting Shop can play in that strategy if it is retained by the NSW Office of Rail Heritage."
Freinds of Eveleigh Submission to Review of Tourism in NSW July 2007

In their submission to the NSW Tourism Review Friends of Eveleigh have spelt out their vision for how the Large Errecting Shop could continue as a functional Heritage Railway Workshop servicing rail heritage throughout the state while at the same time providing a tourist destination for public access into the "Large" to view heritage rail items and the operations of the Shop. Human Services Advisory Committee

The Human Services (HSAC) was created out of the Human Services Implimentation Working Group which was set up by the RWPP to impliment the first stage of the Morgan Disney report into Human Services. The decision to absorb the RWPP functions into the RWA saw the HSAC continue this function but also become the first of the RWA's ministerial advisory committtees. Some changes to the makeup of the HSAC were advised when the RWA website went live on 7 October 2005. The membership of the HSMAC was reviewed in July 2007 with the chairing being taken over by the RWA CEO from the joint chairing of the RWA Reforming Human Services Manager and the Director of NCOSS. While NCOSS remains represented the representative of local NGO Human Service providers was removed and not replaced.

REDWatch Submission on LAP Grants

This is the REDWatch submission of June 2007 to the City of Sydney requesting that Local Action Plan Grants be included in the City's 2007-2008 budget. Friends of Eveleigh Media Release 11th June 2007 - PDF

This media release from FOE contains photos of 3801 being turned at Eveleigh and coaled at Mortuary Station and asserts that Eveleigh is the best place for turning, watering, coaling and for security of the states valuable rail heritage (685Kb PDF).
