This is the May 2012 Report from GHD Pty Ltd on the Social Impact Scoping and Assessment Consultation Outcomes undertaken for the Sydney Metropolitian Development Authority (SMDA). This report was released in October 2014 by UrbanGrowth and is to be updated as part of the UrbanGrowth Central to Eveleigh “Social Sustainability Due Diligence Study” currently also being undertaken by GHD.

UrbanGrowth Central to Eveleigh Urban Renewal and Transport Program 2014-15 Business Plan

This text is extracted from a heavily redacted copy of the "UrbanGrowth Central to Eveleigh Urban Renewal and Transport Program 2014-15 Business Plan". The document was released under a GIPA Request to the Sydney Morning Herald and was the basis of an article on 27th September 2014 titled "Sydney renewal project at Eveleigh likely to be scaled back". REDWatch has also obtained a copy of the document from UrbabGrowth and have provided a text version of the available text below for easy access.
Central to Eveleigh Corridor Indicative Development February 2014

In February 2014 the NSW Government produced a video called "NSW is open for business". That video included a flythrough of the Central to Eveleigh corridor showing indicative development. A similar fly through was shown in March to the Property Council and released to Channel 9. Below are some stills taken from "NSW is open for business" which provide an indication of what development was being considered at that stage of Central to Eveleigh. UrbanGrowth has since indicated at a REDWatch meeting that some testing has been done on the indicative densities and that revisions are being made. UrbanGrowth expects to test possible densities with surrounding communities later in the process.
REDWatch “Population Dynamics” Workshop - 6pm 4 Sep

This month’s REDWatch meeting will be a “Population Dynamics” Workshop looking at the population growth and demographic change in the Inner city. This workshop will explore the most recent population projections for Inner Sydney. What do they say? How are they arrived at? What do they mean for the future of policy and service delivery in our Sydney and our Neighbourhoods? REDWatch holds its monthly public meetings on the first Thursday of the month. REDWatch meetings are open to anyone interested in the issues of the area.

Subsequemtly REDWatch produced the document below to place our concerns in the public domain and to make these concerns available to other groups and stakeholders. Council Subcommittee to Consider UrbanGrowth MOUs - 22 July 2014

Council’s Planning and Development Committee on Tuesday 22nd July will be considering Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the City Council and UrbanGrowth NSW. Below are details of the MOUs being coinsidered and some REDWatch comments.

Ten Councils along the Parramatta Road corridor were asked to enter a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with UrbanGrowth to have a say in the planning of this corridor. City of Sydney is the sole council in the eastern precinct of the Parramatta Corridor and hence has will have its own agreement with UrbanGrowth NSW for planning work on this corridor. As the City of Sydney have a number of other UrbanGrowth precincts within its borders (Central to Eveleigh, Green Square and part of the Bays Precinct) there is also a proposed MOU between City of Sydney and UrbanGrowth covering the City working with UrbanGrowth NSW accross the Sydney Local Government area. Sydney Uni Campus Improvement Plan 2020 Information Session - Saturday 22 March 11am–1pm

Sydney Uni's plans for new buildings on its campus including a number on the Darlington Campus are in their Campus Improvement Plan 2014-2020. The proposal for approval in principle of these developments was initially on exhibition for a short period - until the end of February. The University has now said it will consult with the community until the end of March and the Department of Planning and Infrastructure will accept submissions for a short period after the end of February. Three additional Information sessions are being held by the University - this is one of them. Submissions with any concerns from members of the community should be raised with the Universiuty and also made in writing to the Department of Planning.

USyd Campus Improvement Program 2014-2020 for Camperdown-Darlington Campus (SSD 13_6123) - Until 31 March 2014

Staged development application for endorsement of The University of Sydney's Camperdown-Darlington Campus Improvement Program 2014-2020. The CIP will result in an implementation program and strategy that identifies, prioritises and stages the campus development, infrastructure and access priorities over a 7 year period. Consent is also sought for a range of land uses and precinct building envelopes. Developments proposed for Darlington in Mereweather precinct, along City Road and Shepherd Street. Department Exhibition Until 28 February. Sydney University will take submissions until 31st March.

Draft Central to Eveleigh Corridor Concept Plan Precint Map

The draft map of proposed Central to Eveleigh Precincts was provided to focus groups in June 2014. The map shows the proposed precincts in June 2014 and a timeframe for work on those precincts. The location of the precincts covered below is based on the precincts in this map. Page 2 covers six themes UrbanGrowth also consulted on.
BEP1 North Eveleigh Precinct

The BEP1 North Eveleigh Precinct covered both the Eastern (Redfern) end of the North Eveleigh site and the Western (Newtown) end of the site. The BEP1 planning controls, Concept Plan and works on the Newtown end of North Eveleigh are on the BEP1 North Eveleigh part of this site. Here you will find the details for earlier planning and development on the entire North Eveleigh site.
C2E Precincts

BEP1 Redfern Station Precinct

The Redfern Precinct under Central to Eveleigh also covers part of the BEP1 Redfern Railway Station, Gibbons & Regent Streets Precinct. This site have previously been the subject of RWA BEP1 zoning which facilitated buildings near Redfern Station.
BEP1 North Eveleigh Precinct (Redfern end)

The Redfern Precinct under Central to Eveleigh covers the eastern or Redfern end of the BEP1 North Eveleigh precinct. This site have previously been the subject of RWA BEP1 zoning, has had a design competition and an approved Part 3A Concept Plan. Key Heritage Buildings identified by the RWA fall into this precinct.
