Details for Irene Doutney's funeral and memorial

We have received the following details on 14 JUne 2018 evening from Sylvie Ellsmore regarding arrangements for Irene’s funeral which we are passing on.

FUNERAL DETAILS

The family has invited family and friends to attend Irene's funeral this coming Monday 18 June at 12pm, Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, Military Rd Matraville. I am not sure which chapel, but they are near each other. Please refer to http://www.easternsuburbsmemorialpark.com.au/chapel-location-map. I will circulate the official notice and any more details as soon as they are available. [REDWatch will add it to the page for Irene mentioned below.]

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to The Factory Community Centre in Waterloo. The Factory has been in operation for more than 30 years, and provides support services and advocacy for public housing tenants, families and people on low income others living in Redfern and Waterloo. It is hub and meeting place for local community, activist and resident groups. Irene was a strong supporter of the centre and was on the board for several years. More details about the centre can be found here: http://www.the-factory.org.au/Factory.html. You can donate by direct deposit to:

COMMUNITY MEMORIAL

Please be advised that a community memorial for Irene has been tentatively scheduled for Friday 29 June, at Redfern Town Hall. The specific start time is being confirmed between the family and the Lord Mayor's Office. This will be a celebratory event, organised with the support of Irene's family, friends, Greens family, Redfern community and the City of Sydney. I know lots of you will have wonderful ideas and contributions to make it a very special event.
