Remembering Irene Doutney Community Memorial - 2pm 29 June 2018

This is a community event to remember Irene Doutney who recently passed away. This is a community event involves Irene's family, friends and colleagues. It is supported by The City of Sydney (of which she was an ex Deputy Lord Mayor), The NSW Greens (of which she was an elected member), Counterpoint Community Services (of which she was a volunteer and long term Management Committee Member) and REDWatch (of which she was a Co-ord Group member 2007-2015) and the Redfern NAB (of which she was a NAB Rep). A 78er, Irene participated in the first Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and was a long-time advocate for LGBTIQ rights. Irene had many involvements through her life and everyone is welcome to celebrate the contribution of this amazing woman.

Remembering Irene Doutney Community Memorial

The event will open with a Acknowledgement of Country by Millie Ingram and comments by a selection of community representatives. There will be an open mike later in the afternoon for people to share their memories.

Those wishing to continue past 5pm are encouraged to move to Club Redfern.
