Matavi and Tarunga residents bothered by ‘Stand Up’

It seems that Stand Up – a group of inner city activists (normally very responsible) – have stuffed up. They letter-boxed the residents of Matavai and Tarunga with pamphlets which claim that Frank Sartor’s RWA has announced plans to demolish their homes. This seems like a bizarre action to take as it is not the case. REDWatch remembers a few years ago, when there was a big demonstration over the Waterloo Standards Towers, a whole range of speakers turned up and the local member Kristina Keneally had promised to chain herself to the doors of Batavia. That was back in 2004. The battle was won and the towers are safe. If anything does happen, I’m sure you’ll see Kristina chained to the front door.
