Eye testing and fun at Redfern

Children and their parents enjoyed free eye testing at Alexandria Park Community School recently when The Benevolent Society and Redfern Waterloo Authority sponsored a day of good health and family fun reports Kim Shaw in Central on 30 April 2009..

‘Many people find it difficult to access medical services such as eye-care, due to the prohibitive costs,’ Henrietta Foulds, manager of the Central Sydney Benevolent Society Child Protection Service, Scarba said.
‘As a result, some people can go years without knowing if there is a problem with their vision.
If problems aren’t picked up early enough, children may find learning difficult and it can have a significant impact on their time at school.’
