Waterloo dancer scholarship to Big Apple
Lucas Van Der Fect of Waterloo has won the prestigious Broadway Dance Centre Protege award to study dance full time in New York reports Central on 6 September 2009.
Van Der Fect, 19, is a student of Brent Street Performing Arts School in Moore Park.
Brent Street dancers returned last week from a successful outing at the 2009 World Dance Championships in Long Beach California.
Twenty seven students attended the championships and took part in a three-week intensive training and a masterclass tour of the United States.
