In October 2011 we asked for your feedback about a concept design to improve the southern side of Abercrombie Street, between Ivy and Shepherd streets. In response, the project has been expanded to include works on the northern side along Abercrombie Street between Lawson and Shepherd streets and changes to the flow of some streets.

Proposed Abercrombie St Changes 2013

The changes include

  • One-way southbound in Shepherd Lane between Abercrombie Street and Wilson Lane;
  • One-way northbound in Shepherd Lane between Abercrombie and Lander Street;
  • One-way northbound in Ivy Street between Abercrombie Street and Lander Street;
  • No right turn from Abercrombie Street into Ivy Street southbound;
  • Footpath continuation across Ivy Street south of Abercrombie Street;
  • Shared zones for Shepherd Lane between Abercrombie Street & Lander Street and Abercrombie Street and Wilson Lane;
  • Widening the footpath on the north side of Abercrombie Street between Ivy Street and Ivy Lane;
  • Raised traffic-calming device on Lawson Street in front of Redfern Station.
