Social Mix – What is it – What is achieved
Dr Kathy Arthurson of Southgate Institute for Health, Society and Equity, Flinders University raised concerns around the concept of Social Mix and the manner of its proposed implementation by Housing NSW and the NSW Governmentin her presentation to Shelter NSW conference, ‘Estates in the balance’, in Sydney, 17 June 2010.

Dr Kathy Arthurson has written Research Papers and Reports for the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute, among other bodies. The Institute’s membership is drawn from the Universities of Australia and receives funding from the Australian Government who regard it as a prime source of research and issues identification in the Housing and allied sectors.
