RWA meets with Frasers Property to discuss Voluntary Planning Agreement

The new Chief Executive Officer of the Redfern-Waterloo Authority (RWA), Mr Roy Wakelin-King met yesterday with key executives from Frasers Property, the owners of the former Carlton United Brewery (CUB) site, to discuss the Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) that has been made with the RWA reports this media release from the RWA on 23 April 2009.

Mr Wakelin-King said it was a very positive and constructive meeting that included the opportunity to meet with the principal representatives from Frasers, and to also discuss the arrangements of the Voluntary Planning Agreement for Affordable Housing, particularly in light of recent reports regarding the work at the CUB site.

Mr Wakelin-King said “Fraser’s advised us that it was business as usual in relation to the work at the former CUB site, and that their commitment to the VPA stands”.

The VPA will result in $32 million being allocated to affordable housing in the development of the North Eveleigh site.

Mr Wakelin-King said that this is a very important contribution to the Redfern-Waterloo area, and that the RWA look forward to working with Frasers on this matter in the coming years.
