The Back to the drawing board campaign

On 15 June 2016 City of Sydney Council held a public meeting entitled "Packed In – bad planning vs smart growth. The future of the Central to Eveleigh precinct". At the forum they launched a “Back to the drawing board” post card campaign urging its residents to send the cards or other messages to Planning Minister Robert Stokes opposing the proposals currently being prepared by UrbanGrowth Central to Eveleigh.

In mid May 2016 the CEO of the City of Sydney Council produced a report to Council regarding the City’s concerns about densities proposed by Urban Growth Central to Eveleigh especially that proposed for Waterloo and a proposal to create a State Significant Precinct wider than the government owned lands in the corridor. At the public meeting the City’s planning Director Graham Jahn went into considerable detail about how the densities proposed for Waterloo compared with other sites and why the City were so concerned.
