Clover Moore letter to Minister Jackson on Climate resilient housing in Waterloo (South) Redevelopment

This letter was sent by The Lord Mayor Clover Moore to The Hon. Rose Jackson MLC Minister for Housing asking the Minister to ensure the new social housing in Waterloo South is comfortable, efficient and climate resilient. It follows tenants becoming aware that the new social housing in Waterloo will not have air conditioning. The letter says "I ask that you prioritise the health and safety of residents and ensure new social housing at Waterloo South is climate resilient and achieves thermal comfort including by installing reverse cycle air conditioning." The Homes NSW project told a REDWatch meeting in September 2026 that it would apply for funding to include air-conditioning but that this was not yet guaranteed.
