Subject: Exhibition of Environmental Assessment for a Project Application at the Former Rachel Forster Hospital Site, 134-144 Pitt Street, Redfern. (MP09_0060)

Architecture and Building Works Pty Limited has submitted an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the above project The project involves the adaptive re-use of a former hospital building and the construction of three new buildings to accommodate 159 residential units, a two level basement car park accommodating 170 spaces, the provision of public open space and landscape works

The EA may be viewed on the Department's website (majorprojects.planning nsw gov au) The EA will be on exhibition from Wednesday 20 February 2013 until Friday 22 March 2013 during regular business hours at

  • Department of Planning and Infrastructure, Information Centre, 23-33 Bridge Street Sydney
  • City of Sydney Council, One Stop Shop, Level 2, Town Hall House, 456 Kent Street, Sydney and
  • Redfern Neighbourhood Service Centre, 158 Redfern Street, Redfern

If you wish to make a submission on the project, it must reach the Department by close of business on Friday 22 March 2013.

Description of proposal

Project application for a residential development consisting of the adaptive re-use of an existing but., and construction of three new buildings to accommodate 159 residential units, a hoc level basement car park to accomodate 170 spaces, the proivision of public open space and landscape works.

Exhibition

The Environmental Assessment will be on exhibition from Wednesday 20 February 2013 until Friday 22 March 2013 during regular business hours at:

  • Department of Planning and Infrastructure, Information Centre. 23-33 Bndge Street, Sydney;
  • City of Sydney Council, One Stop Shop, Level 2. Town Hall House, 456 Kent Street, Sydney, and
  • Redfern Neighbourhood Service Centre, 158 Redfern Street, Redfern.

A copy of the Environmental Assessment may be viewed on the Department of Planning and Infrastructure website under Former Rachel Forster Hospital MP 09_0068 Residential and Public Open Space Development

Submissions

Submissions on the project must reach the Department by dose of business on Friday 22 March 2013 Your submission should include:

  • Your name and address;
  • The name of the application and the application number;
  • A statement on whether you support or object to the project; and
  • The reasons why you support or object to the project.

Your submission should be:

  • Faxed to (02) 9228 6455;
  • Posted to Major Projects Assessment, Department of Planning and Infrastructure, GPO Box 39, SYDNEY NSW 2001; or
  • Emailed to plan_comment@planning.nsw.gov.au or via the entry for the project on the Department's website (majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au)

Persons lodging submissions are required to declare reportable political donations (including donations of 51000 or more) made in the previous two years. For more details, including a disclosure form, go to www.planning.nsw.gov.au/donations

Under section 75H of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, the Director-General is required to provide copies of submissions received dining the exhibition period, or a report of the issues raised in those submissions, to the Proponent and other interested public authorities. The Department may also place a copy of your submission on the Department's website. If you do not want your contact details to be made available to the Proponent, these authorities, or on the Department's website, please clearly state this in your submission.
