REDWatch holds its monthly public meetings on the first Thursday of the month. The focus this month is a roundtable on “Mind the Gaps” (see attached). What are the Gaps in Community Services? What are the Gaps between Services and Residents ? What Are the Gaps between Government and Non-Government Agencies? What are the Gaps between Expectations and Reality ? The roundtable will be at 6pm at The Factory Community Centre 67 Raglan Street Waterloo. This roundtable is an opportunity to identify the gaps that need to be addressed and to also think about how these gaps can be addressed.

After a reath laying the Coloured Diggers March starts at 2pm at Redfern Park and heads to the Redfern Community Centre for a Remeberence Ceremony.

We hear a lot about what people who own their own houses can do to help mitigate the impact of climate change. If you do not control the place you live, then solar panels and making buildings more adaptable are not options. What can a renter or someone in social / public housing to do? How do we tackle our response to climate change so it does not increase inequality in our society? We have asked a few people with expertise in this topic to come along and lead a round table on this topic. At the 6 July REDWatch meeting the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) and the Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) will present an update on the rezoning process for the Explorer Street South Eveleigh public housing site. DPE is working to progress the rezoning of the Explorer Street and a concept masterplan with support from LAHC and the City of Sydney planners, who DPE have also invited to attend the REDWatch meeting.

Other staff will participate in the meeting after the Minister leaves.
