Clover Moore MP Questions on Redfern Station to Minister for Transport

Clover Moore MP placed the following questions on Notice in the Legislative Assembly on 15 February 2012. On 21 March 2012 the Minister for transport responded to them all with the one liner: "The Government is in the process of determining where future upgrades to stations will take place and Redfern Station will be considered as part of this review". The question also refers to earlier answers to questions raised by Clover Moore MP. We have provided the links to theses questions and the answers which give some indication of past promises and time frames that have not been met.

Following the response to Written Questions On Notice 12098/541, 7311/541, 7311/541, 0686/532 and 4670/531 about the long-awaited redevelopment of Redfern Railway Station, and noting that this station is the seventh busiest in the network but does not have disability access:

  1. What community consultation was carried out in 2011; When will the approved station upgrade plans be public;
  2. What action will be taken to provide disability access;
  3. How will station capacity be expanded;
  4. What pedestrian and bicycle access across the rail corridor will be provided;
  5. How will links to precincts east and west of the railway lines be improved;
  6. What public domain improvements will be included;
  7. How will safety in the station precinct be improved;
  8. How will the built, social and Indigenous heritage of the railway station precinct be protected;
  9. What changes will be made to station entrance and concourse;
  10. When will construction begin;
  11. When will an accessible station be completed and in use?
