The letter regarding the land transfer / swap from Council says: Transfer of land in Redfern

From 1 August to 19 September 2011, the City of Sydney exhibited a proposal to transfer City-owned Eveleigh Lane, part of Caroline Lane and 91-99 Eveleigh Street, and 119-121 Eveleigh Street to the Aboriginal Housing Company.

The transfer will help provide much needed affordable housing and other facilities for

the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

During the exhibition, the community told us it wanted more information about the transfer and the opportunity to discuss the proposal, especially in relation to Caroline Lane.

On Tuesday 22 November the Aboriginal Housing Company will hold a Community Information Event on the proposal. The City will make a presentation about the land transfer and the reconfiguration of Caroline Lane.

The event will be held at Redfern Community Centre, 29-53 Hugo Street, Redfern.

Please arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

For more information on the land transfer or the Community Information Event, please contact Samantha Urquhart, Property Officer, on 9265 9333 or email

surquart@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.

Yours sincerely
