RailCorp to take Important Heritage Rail Carriages from Large Erecting Shop on 9th January 2007
I am writing to advise the Board of 3801 Limited of State Rail's intention to transfer 8 carriages from the State Rail Heritage fleet to support an integrated tour program for 2007. These carriages are to be retained in the core collection but will be maintained and operated from Thirlmere by agreement with the NSW Rail Transport Museum (NSW RTM).
The
specific carriages will support a broad based steam and diesel heritage train
tour program for New South Wales.
These carriages are the HFS 2017, EFS 2090, MBE 62, XFS2015, TBC 532, PFZ 2219.
ABS 2305 and BCS 2357. I would appreciate your assistance in ensuring that
these carriages are made available to the NSW RTM on a where is, as is,
condition The date of transfer is to be the 9th January 2007 in order to
facilitate NSW RTM preparation for heritage train operations in 2007. I am
advised that the NSW RTM will apply for a train operating condition (TOC)
waiver to bring these carriages into their fleet for the purposes of meeting
RaiICorp accreditation requirements.
I
request that the Board facilitate the handover of the carriages from the Large
Erecting Shop to the NSW RTM on the 9th January 2007. The NSW RTM will contact
A/General Manager Dr John Glastonbury to confirm the time for the handover and
to arrange access to the Large Erecting Shop and/or shunting requirements to safely
effect the handover. I would appreciate your Board's support m ensure a safe,
cooperative and smooth handover of these assets.
I
look forward to receiving confirmation that the carriages will be made
available, and that suitable access to the Large Erecting Shop and for shunting
requirements have been arranged.
